.38 Special and Trace Adkins will join together to tape an episode of CMT Crossroads to premiere on Sept. 24. The invitation-only taping takes place Aug. 19 near Nashville. Led by Donnie Van Zant and Don Barnes, 38 Special gained its reputation in Southern rock and mainstream rock 'n' roll with hits such as "Caught Up in You," "Hold on Loosely," "If I'd Been the One" and "Rockin' Into the Night." Van Zant is the brother of the late Ronnie Van Zant, Lynyrd Skynyrd's lead vocalist. Donnie Van Zant and another brother, Johnny Van Zant, have recorded two country albums as the duo Van Zant. advertisement
