Brad Whitford out for start of Aerosmith tour

Rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford just announced he will have to miss the beginning of the Aerosmith tour to recuperate from a recent unspecified surgery. Whitford will be sitting out part of the band's upcoming Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Presents Aerosmith tour dates with special guests ZZ Top.

Bobby Schneck, who's played with Green Day, Weezer and Slash will be filling in for Brad.

Aerosmith hits the Ford Ampitheater Saturday, July 11. Just announced they plan to do the entire "Toys in the Attic" album during the show.

Knopfler's New CD
Mark Knopfler has named his new CD "Get Lucky," expect to see the album in store the middle of September. Mark will be going on tour in the spring and summer of 2010. FYI: The Dire Straits guitars will be doing an invitation-only show in London on September 9th, benefiting the Prince's Trust charity, aiding disadvantaged youth in the UK.

Stones Are Doing Covers
A new album of cover tunes will be out in July... The Rolling Stones will appear with Rhythms del Mundo. The Stones will be doing a cover of the classic Drifters tune "Under the Boardwalk." By the way, the money made from the CD sales will benefit the Artists Project Earth's campaign, which is trying to fix the climate-change crisis.


Aerosmith Thrown Out Of Court
Last September, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith filed a lawsuit against unknown Internet users, alleging they were impersonating him has been thrown out of court, simple because, Steven could not produce a defendant(s). Good Names for Steven, the Judge dismissed the case "without prejudice," which means if Steven discovers who impersonated him on the internet, he can re-file anytime.
