New Book Chronicles Rocker's Battle With Depression
Look for a new book penned by Aerosmith's Joey Kramer to hit shelves at the end of June. Hit hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top chronicles Kramer's struggle with anxiety and depression including details about a nervous breakdown the drummer suffered in 1995. Kramer hopes by telling his story he will be able to help people with their illness. (5/12)
Skynyrd Bassist Succumbs to Cancer
After a long battle with cancer, Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist Ean Evans succumbed to the disease Wednesday. Evans joined the band in 2001 after the death of long time bassist Leon Wilkeson. Recently a benefit concert was held in Evans honor in Mississippi and sadly it ended up being one of his final appearances with the band. An Atlanta native, Evans also performed with several bands including The Outlaws and was preparing to release an album with Bobby Capps of .38 Special. Evans is survived by his wife Eva and two daughters. (5/6).
Woodstock to Celebrate 40th
For the 40th anniversary of Woodstock,several bands have signed on to play a concert August 15th at The original concert site. So far the line-up includes Jefferson Starship, Mountain, Levon Helm, Canned Heat and Ten Years After. (5/5)
Boston to Tour in '10
Boston guitarist Tom Scholz recently disclosed touring plans for Boston that include a major tour in 2010 and possibly a new studio album that he is reportedly working on. No word on dates or band line-up. (5/5)
