Rolling Stones On Dvd And Vinyl![]() Earlier this week, the Rolling Stones released a 4-DVD boxed set called Four Flicks. The set features three live shows from the band's 2003 Licks World Tour, plus two exclusive behind-the-scenes documentaries, and many state-of-the-art bonus features -- some seen for the first time on a live concert DVD. Among the special features: Backstage Pass: When this feature is turned "ON," fans get an "All Access" backstage pass and are treated to views of just what goes on backstage during both the stadium and theater shows. Select-A-Stone: This feature enables the viewer to sit in the director's chair and "Select-A-Stone," that is, zoom in for a close-up -- whether it's Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, or Ronnie Wood. Custom Set List: For the first time on a Stones DVD, viewers can create their own Rolling Stones command performance by rearranging the set list or selecting and sequencing their favorite songs. Video and Audio Commentary by the Rolling Stones: When this feature is turned "ON," hotlinks appear during the concerts allowing fans to watch special segments of the band discussing the writing and recording of classic songs. Four Flicks features over five hours of music and more than 50 songs. Three DVDs will feature more than 25 classics tracks while in addition to the two documentaries on the fourth disc, there are seven bonus tracks, four of which have never before been released by the band. Interestingly, Keith Richards says some of the band's best live performances have come when they faced the worst possible conditions. "That is the problem. Every time you play in the open air you're in God's hands. It's very strange but some of the best shows and the most memorable ones have been ones where there's thunder and lightning and the stage is a wash. Everybody's like soaked. You just get out there with everybody and get as wet as they do." On November 25th, ABCKO Records will release eleven classic Rolling Stones albums on vinyl, including the 1970 live set, Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out, and the hits compilation Hot Rocks. According to a spokesperson, the vinyl records will be released in extremely limited quantities, and will be made from the same improved-sound master tapes that were used in reissuing the Super Audio CDs of these titles in 2002. Expect to pay $19.98 for the single albums and $24.98 for the double-vinyl Hot Rocks. from LAUNCH media More music headlines | |
